There Used to be a Ballpark Here

As a baseball fan, I'm continually fascinated by the sites of old Major League Baseball stadiums (Stadia? Okay, let's go "stadia."). I'm also pretty much continually saddened. Somewhere in the impractical part of my brain, I feel there should be a freakin' museum on the sites of our old Baker Bowls and Eclipse Parks and Crosley Fields, because hot dammit, Pete Browning or Wahoo Sam Crawford or Smokey Joe Wood used to play there, and that's scared freakin' ground as a result.

The result is we sometimes get a plaque in the middle of what is now a Lowe's Home Improvement or a shopping mall. C'est la vie, eh?

But hey—there are some nice monuments, and even though the capitalists might not find the ground sacred, you still can. Put in your worship at some of these sites, courtesy Berkshire Hathaway Travel.

Stan Lee on the Supreme Court and Spidey
